Your most disappointing WHU signing of all time
I'm not talking our worst ever signing, as it would be the biggest thread in WHO history. I mean who is the player that you were most disappointed by, having expected so much more? For me it would be Lee Bowyer in the 02/03 season (when we went down). It wasn't that long before that he was shit-hot for Leeds, scoring some absolute crackers. I thought the bloke was a scumbag but would've overlooked it if he helped keep us up. But like the rest of the squad that season he was such a let down. Marginally better in his second spell though.

Benni McCarthy was another one where I thought if we could get his Blackburn form out of him we'd have a real striker on our hands. Zola genuinely (naively) believed he could. However his obsession for food shattered that hope.

So many to choose from. Freddie Lungberg springs immediately to mind.

Rebrov - I remember being genuinely excited when he signed.

One lesson that needs to be learned - do not

Carlton Cole when he rejoined after being released.

It's not like he suddenly became good after 3 months of playing Xbox and eating McDonalds.

Vladimir Labant. Was a great buy on Championship manager. Was felled by his own boot laces in reality.

Another vote for Frank McAvennie (second time). He was superb in his first spell, even in the second season when he didn't score as much. Then we sold him to Celtic and bought him back for double the price. He failed to score in the last couple of months of that season as we went down for the first time in my living memory. The Chris Kamara broke his leg and he hardly played again. As if to rub it in he hit a second half hat-trick as a substitute in his final game v Forest.

Going back a bit but for me it was John Radford. Banged them in for years with Arsenal, never scored for us in 28 games.

I remember David Kelly being a huge flop when he signed for us but he had a half decent career after leaving us.

Kieron Dyer really pissed me off though as did quite a few we signed during the Curbishley/Icelandic reign
